Stung by insects, unknown which ones

So, I'm at about mile 9 of my commute home on the Surly LHT, got my groceries loaded as well as my office bag and moving along at a brisk 13 mph about to stop at a stopsign. I go by a man in a yard using a leafblower saying a polite "Good Afternoon". I quickly stop at the intersection and then blast through and move quickly down to a particularly quick part of my route at around 16mph when something stings me on the back. I hit the afterburners and swat clumsily at whatever the offender on my back, and at the same time a second one sticks me right on the arse.

Thankfully, I'm not allergic to either one as my wife checked and I'm not swelling and not stinger was left.

I'm pretty sure the guy in the yard with the leafblower had stirred up yellow jackets, but could have been guinea wasps as well. Anyone else ever had insect issues, or is it just me?
