Somewhere in the 80s Peugeot switched to English threading. I have an 84 that is English threads, for example. You may want to measure the threads on the BB bracket and headset if they are not marked. If not English in the BB, the BB is likely Swiss that late. Peugeot switched BB threading from French to Swiss about 1979. At any rate, I would check; a thread gauge and a pair of calipers are needed. I am unsure of the exact dates of the threading switchovers. I do know that late the BB is not French.

Having ridden both Carbolite bikes and earlier UO8s, I'll say I prefer the UO8s, but it may be a simple frame geometry thing.
