That's the point - the DA cranks are assuming a 130OLD and therefore are spaced further out by design. The difference in spacing would be explained by the difference in OLD plus the centerline for the OE cassette being a smaller distance from the centerline (smaller chainline. DaveSS laid out the proper procedure to see if you have the correct BB for the Campy (though that does not mean it's the right one for your rear setup). Rear derailleur adjustment has nothing to do with the problem, though.
But I have modern wheels designed for 130OLD and the rear fork is just slightly stretched out to accept it. As far as the bike and the components are concerned everything is on the up and up
