Yes, when the post is new, I'm sure it would be, but if there's significant play, then the sliding part is no longer a close fit in the main tube, so there's a gap to be filled. The Araldite I've used wasn't a gap filler like some, and if the post is taking the weight of an entire rider, I don't think I'd trust an epoxy filler.
