Interestingly, I bought my first Roubaix sight unseen (bare frame) and my second one in the same condition having only ever ridden my first Roubaix. (I've had other bikes). I think a test ride would be great for identifying a bike you really hate but there are so many variables that are difficult to control. Having said that, test riding is fun and I wish you great success.
