I tried very seamless compression type boxers inside my shorts.
Basically doesn't work as well as the shorts doing their own thing.

Not yet got up to the sort of mileage Vaseline is a good idea.

Still being 50+ I always wear something loose outside my shorts,
just to not look too serious, for my age I look pretty good in them.

And with light coloured outer shorts become aware of "bikers bottom",
a sweat band that looks very odd to those that don't know the cause.
