I may ride up tomorrow as well - if so, I would start at 7 at the latest. I'm pretty slow on the hills but I can generally get to Baldy in 2 1/2 hours or so. If it is crazy hot at that point, may just descend to Upland and take Foothill back, mostly downhill. I think there is a drinking fountain near the forestation - and the vending machine near the lodge has water and powerade - just in case they aren't open (on the 4th anyway)
