There are lots of hi-ten bikes that are worthy of consideration. You shouldn't recycle the frames just because they weigh a couple of pounds more. I had a 72 Fuji Special Road Racer that was a pretty nice bike. 29 lbs and a very nice ride. I'm currently rehabbing a low-end Peugeot which is also hi-ten and IMO a potentially nice bike.
