You cant get trained in 4 days all you can do is deplete your legs for the event so I recommend taking it easy on the bike with at least one rest day right before the event

I agree with that and am just trying to get to "best I can" in that time. I think you are right that if I try and get into proper shape all I would do is deplete my legs. The goal here would then be to do whatever it is that I can to get prepared the best yet don't delete.
With that in mind I think I'll do a short ride today and a 40 miler on Monday then let that dictate what I do on Tuesday.
