Mike Piazza was drafted last as a favor by the Dodgers. He wasn't that bad of a hitter, not the best catcher, but for a last draft pick? Bargain. You would be amazed at the growth in skill from 14 to 21. I used to work for USA Hockey and did stats for the Nationals on ice in 2002 and Inline from 2002-2006. Patrick Kane is a good example of a kid who had exceptional talent, and has made that even better at the NHL-level. Brodeur has potential, but his name alone will not get him the job. He's still a a kid, and his dad's skates are hard to fill.
