I'd love to ride the whole thing some summer, but this isn't that summer. Instead, I can do about 30-50 miles sometime next week that will presumably be an out-and-back. (I'll be driving from either Jasper or Lake Louise, so no worries about getting there from Calgary.)

My question to you: For maximum cycling and scenic pleasure (and easiest parking), where should I start and in which direction should I head? I'm thinking somewhere around Peyto Lake and/or the Columbia Icefield Visitor Center, but perhaps something lower is even more spectacular? I've driven it before but never done it on a bike ... anything else I should know?
