Mid Seventies Raleigh - Ridden for the first time today..!

Today, I found an old Raleigh Sport, light blue in color and in mint, unridden and properly stored condition. Yes, unridden! The old fellow, I got the bike from, won it from an A&W contest, back in the seventies. The prize also included a matching, "hers" Raleigh Sport bicycle. It, too, is almost mint.

The lady rode hers once or twice, before deciding she did not like riding. The man's bike went unridden until today. The fellow who won the bike was a good six inches shorter than me and the Raleigh just barely fits me. So...

Today, I got to ride a seventies bicycle exactly as it was issued from the show room floor, with one exception. The vintage air in the tires was gone and I had to use new air.

Sorry, no pics - gigantic computer problems. My desk top is infected with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police virus, a very nasty piece of scareware. I did take pics, of the Raleigh "as found" and will post them as soon as I can.
