Froze my BB spindle to install thru outboard bearings. Water condensation a problem?

Hi Mechies,

I just did my first overhaul of an outboard bearing BB. When trying to slide the hollow crank spindle through the bearing cups, I found it a tight fit. Enough that I couldn't get it installed the last 1/2" by hand-wiggling.

So, thinking I was clever, I threw the spindle and crank assembly in the freezer for a few minutes. It worked, the cold and slightly smaller spindle installed easily. However, today being hot and humid, the ice-cold spindle was coated in condensation by the time I got it installed.

So now I wonder if I've screwed up. I hear that water & rust is the biggest problem with bottom brackets. Is the water I've trapped inside the bottom bracket assembly going to rust it out now?
