Haha...this guy WAS racing! He wasn't racing me in particular, but the other 60 riders were spread out for miles behind us, all trying to catch us and post their best time possible.
I freely admit that I can only ride that fast for 3-5 miles depending on wind speed. It's all I need out there. He didn't know I was 99% cooked when I passed him. And he had about 13 more miles of his race to attend to. It was quite nice for him to give me a rest after the bridge, and the video is over when the camera can't see the other rider.
I really can't grab a better challenge than to chase the
#1 guy, other than to enter the danged race. Some of us have to go to work. And the food would be all gone at the post-race party before I ever finished the swim part anyway, assuming the tide was coming in.
