Hey - all I'm getting at - is most people who finish RAAM - have to battle delirium.... I challenge any of you to go ride your bicycle for 8 or 9 day and nights.
You can ride your bicycle as slowly as you wish - but you MUST ride at least 18 hours out of each 24 hour period. I dare you - i dare anyone. Tell me how its not "mental" on the 7th or eighth day......
I can't believe the silly comments about endurance exercise nutrition. All the riders fluctuate between periods of caloric deficits as well as periods of caloric replacement and occasional overload. Successful riders remain in "homeostasis." The same goes for any club racer or rec rider - unless you want to bonk or vomit......
In theory - get it "in theory" ???? In "theory" a rider could shed 10lbs, losing 35,000 or more in calories while riding RAAM - but they wouldn't be riding very competitively........
