I just bought the SRAM MRX Comp Bicycle Twist Shifter Set and am finishing putting it on this morning. Getting the grips on is hard work, but otherwise extremely easy. Gears are basically still in tune. Just expect some fine adjustment. It was a nice occasion to lube my housings too, but forgot to ask for some cable tip crimp ons when I bought the shifter set. I got it for $14.95 on a closeout. Reading about, it seems that 8 shifters are going away due to the popularity of 9 and 10 gear cassettes being so popular. So if there ever is another upgrade ( the old one lasted 20 years) it will include the whole drivetrain. And if I do that, I might just get a new mountain bike. I'll update my impressions on the shifters after riding for a few days.
