The other side of the coin is that I am frequently waved through an intersection when I stop. I don't ask for special treatment. I'll pull up to a light, trackstand, and a car will wave me to go- almost looking annoyed that I stopped. It becomes problematic at a four-way stop when there are two other parties who may or may not want me to suddenly go through just because ONE motorist waved me to go.
