There must have been different traveler frames available in the same time frame. I have an 86 traveler with 4130 chromoly. This bike has stem shifters and safety brakes. I also have a 1988 traveler that is a tru temper frame but not 4130. It has downtube shifters with chrome bosses, but retains safety brakes. Newer model, lesser frame, same basic components. These model years are confirmed by the head badge and components
