I basically agree but would describe it as being "outcome driven." Many, but not all, seem to know what they want the result to be so they cherry pick the data/info to support their conclusion. I have been guilty of that in my youth and like to think I've learned some lessons during my time on the planet. Even so, one does not need to be disrespectful in voicing a dissenting opinion. The problem in these discussions is everyone seems to have a thin skin and it doesn't take much to set them off and the name calling begins.
For example, you expressed your opinion but then added a comment implying that anyone who didn't agree with it was childish. You were annoyed that someone called your argument stupid and down the rathole we go...
