I'm in the midst of overhauling the components on my beloved '87 Peugeot frame, and I'm toying with the idea of upgrading to a 24-46 triple chainring. Problem is, with my 11-32 cassette, I'd need a wrap capacity of 43, which seems to be way beyond the range most old-school derailers, even the long-cage ones. (I'm currently using a dreamy long-cage Suntour V GT Luxe, max wrap 36). I realize I could just get a Shimano Deore, but it would look so out of place on a classic bike, and I'd love to stick with something old, be it Suntour, Shimano, Campy, Simplex, whatever. Anyone know of any high-capacity classic derailers? Or, heck, even an old-style-looking one--just something that's fits, visually?
