I'm a solo tourer for me it's less hassles and I'm free to change plans at the drop of a hat. Unless you have toured with others to have a full understanding of your likes and dislikes I personally wouldn't do it as it's a recipe for disaster. Just remember most things are water of a ducks back in your own home environment add just one person to that equation it becomes amplified in a touring situation.
