Who knows if the weight is accurate or actually a full packed weight. Polyester taffeta may be ok, but it's always heavier to be as strong as nylon ripstop. The waterproofing level will always be questionable on lower priced options too, especially on the floor, as well as how many properly sealed seams you're going to find. Overall it will be hard to argue any of those points and other typical cheap tent issues that crop up at that price though, like zipper and material quality, ventilation, and guyouts, fit of the fly, and pole material and performance. Aluminum poles are not just lighter weight, but less prone to breakage and more easily repairable. It's just like bikes, there may not be one feature that adds up to value for the price of admission, but eventually they all add up or one comes back to bite you later. Some of the difference in price is just paying for the lowest weights too. I typically have a rule that I won't pay $100 more to save less than 1lb, but there is more to it than that when discussing the details of cheap vs expensive shelters.
From the product page : 2 person Size: 7ft 8in x 3ft 8in x
51in h
would seem to me to mean 7ft 8 inches in length, 3ft 8 inches in width and 51 inches in height.
5 inches in height would be good I could sit up and read in there, 7ft 8 inches long is way long enough for most of the population of the world and 3 feet and 8 inches wide would be good for one person. Seems like I could go to Wally world and buy something of similar quality, I'd rather spend more and get something that is of higher quality. I don't mind paying more if I get enough use out of it to make it pay for itself. My thought is if I spend $200 on a good tent and I use it for vacations twice a year it will pay for itself by not staying in motels on my vacations.
