I got pulled over in a POS car I was driving years ago. I asked the cop why and he said there was smoke coming out of my car--"something's on fire". By then I could see the smoke too, so of course I started to get out of the car. He ordered me to "just sit in your chair while I check you for warrants. I'll let you know if you're in any danger." He went back and got in his car. After a few minutes I started panicking as I choked on the smoke. I got out slowly, and the cop yelled at me to get back in. I said, "No sir, I'd rather get shot than burn up in a fire, so do what you gotta do." We'll, he obviously didn't shoot me, but he did give me a big ticket for having an unsafe vehicle!
