OK so I'm ambidextrous, but 80% of the time the right foot is 1st down when I stop, and I start using the left. I don't think it's because I'm a righty or lefty, but because the right foot is the "curb side" foot. OTOH, if starting from scratch, I prefer to stand on the left foot and start with the right.
When I do "Roy Rogers" mounts and dismounts (much easier on my hips than throwing a leg over the saddle) They're almost exclusively on the left pedal which makes sense since I'm treating the bike like a horse.
