Huh? It's in the seat tube, that's the whole point. It doesn't take up a water bottle spot.

For some reason they feel it needs to be attached to the frame and they do that internally via water bottle bolts. With Di2 (and presumably this new EPS battery) you can just wrap the battery in a single layer of bubble wrap (in fact, Di2 internal battery comes in a bubble wrap tube for packaging) and slide it down into the downtube. I got a tight enough fit that it's not going anywhere and the bubble wrap keeps it from making any rattling noises as well.


Could probably get away with not drilling that hole too, and just take out your seatpost the 3-4 times a year when you actually need to charge it.
