So does anybody use boron anymore? Why not make super-stiff chainstays with boron, and other parts oft he frame with more flexible stuff?
Boron is more expensive than carbon fiber, (graphite fiber) and has found its home in military aerospace applications foremost. Allegedly it was used in the last winning Americas Cup boat, which was a no holds barred money and technology affair. This go round, it was excluded to mitigate costs (doubtful that much was saved this cycle).
