it takes a few minutes to change or patch a tube and i do it at most once a year. as for getting wet anyone who rides 340+ days a year gets wet. in fact, i quite enjoy getting wet. moreover, i loathe the mushy ride of wide tires. when i travel and rent a bike it drives me absolutely nucking futs to ride 28+.
in fact, i find 23-25 to be more comfortable than 28+.
