Would be a good reference on this forum to have some instructions on how to remove them if you remember how you did it.

Mine is a 2006 (not QS?) and the parts catalog shows an allen bolt at the end of one post. The diagram for the 2008 QS doesn't show that bolt so I guess the design was modified. Sorry if my suggestion caused you pain.
