Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

I also have both the speedo and cadence transmitters for my VDO computer on the non-drive side chainstay on my bike, and the signals reach the head unit on my handlebar with no problems....
There could be some differences between brands on transmitting power and maximum distances from the transmitter and head unit, but I suspect most of them are powerful enough to have the transmitter mounted on the seat or chainstay of the bike.
