Building up a new road bike, frame material is aluminum and I am debating whether to go for alum or carbon seatpost. I read some info online but in short, is there any negatives using a carbon post on an aluminum bike?

Price isn't an issue, just want to make sure that it's okay. My previous bike I rode a carbon frame bike with a Thomson post but this time it is reverse.
