Seatposts, if they've got enough extension, do a lot to take the harshness out of a ride, particularly a harsh ride like aluminum frames. Carbon is very good in this respect, aluminum less so. Ti is champ, though, and if you've got the skrill, you should look at the USE Alien Ti.
