Bikes: 1967 Paramount; 1982-ish Ron Cooper; 1978 Eisentraut "A"; two mid-1960s Cinelli Speciale Corsas; and others in various stages of non-rideability.

Technically, it isn't a tandem. The term "tandem" refers to being in line, one behind the other, and is not limited to just two people or two whatever. What we refer to as "triplet" bikes are also tandems. You can also have cars, trucks, etc., riding in tandem, one behind the other. Heck, a well-ordered pace line has riders in tandem.

So what is thiis thing called? I have no idea, but I bet I would crash on it in 60 seconds or less. Probably a lot less.

Looks to me like the rider on the left. Considering that's where the brake levers are, i sure hope so.
