dude, i am so with you on this. wasn't long ago i was in the same boat.
bikes are not standard re sizes and uses of parts. would that they were.
i'm a poor boy and built my kit one tool at a time, being selective as to quality.
it took me a couple of years to get where i am now, and i think the only 'tool'
left to buy is a repair stand. even that isn't an absolute must.

go through the bike and write the sizes of all the nuts, allen head bolts, etc.
then go shopping. have a great time, look for bargains.
