i agree with the above reply. i actually just bought a 2012 fuji newest 1.0 from performance. it was $749. its pretty nice for the money. it seems they have a good deal (and this may be me getting taken in by the marketing, i don't know) whereby if you join their club for $30 (its an annual thing), you get 10% of your bike purchase price as credit towards another purchase. Also, if you ask them, they seem only too happy to give you a 20% coupon on said second purchase.

I'm thinking, $749 for the bike, $30 for the membership gets me almost $50 of credits towards helmet/lock etc.

a lot of the 2011/2012 fujis are on clearance right now. you may get lucky.
