Garage sales are great, people do no research on what they have so to them it was just a rusty old bike. The lady I bought it from was begging me to take it the second I started looking at it. However, the reason I bought it was to try and fix it up, and since it's the first bike that I've ever attempted maintenance on I needed to buy a lot of new tools and other things. I'm already up to $150 in expenses (sandblasting is free) and I still need paint, tires, tubes, and brake cables.

So, if the market's good, maybe I'll break even. But at least when I do this again I won't have the $150 in first time expenses. It'll just be the little things. Now I just gotta find another good second bike!
