Eating noodles for 3 months to be able to "give it a shot in the Road Biking scene"? How committed to this are you? Sounds to me like you're not sure riding road is for you, but you're intrigued enough to try it. I'd buy the bike in your budget and start saving your pennies. If you like it, sell the starter bike and add your saved money to it and buy the bike you want. If not, sell the bike and you're only out a few bucks. That's the smartest thing to do. Never said it was the most fun thing to do, though.
