Fit issues for a really big dude
I'm not small at 6'2" 220lbs, but a buddy of mine at 6'0" and 340lbs is thinking about maybe starting to ride. I'll be helping set him up.
I'm thinking a 90's era rigid mountain bike with a new B17. My goal is to make him as comfortable as possible on the bike and minimize mechanicals. I figure the more comfortable he is and the less trouble he has with the bike, the more likely he is to stick with the sport (and save his own life).
So what fitting accommodations do I need to make for a very large person? Should I get him more upright to lessen the pressure on his hands? How about belly clearance? His gut rests on his thighs when he sits - is there anything I can do to help him out?
Thanks
