The IPA wasn't much to write home about. The Obsidian Stout on the other hand has been one of my favorite beers. It has the richest dark chocolatey and espresso notes. It doesn't necessarily taste like coffee but it's that same "kick back with a warm cup of black coffee" bold wave of flavor and aroma. Not sure if you can get it up in Canada, but if you come down to Bellingham it's all over the place. Do you venture south often? I live right across the border and it seems like there are more cars from BC than WA on the roads at times.
Not often, but if I know there is someone to meet, I now have reason to venture south of the border. Given that I'm in Vancouver, Bellingham is a nice weekend destination. I'll advise you anytime I plan to make a border crossing for sure. You sound like the kind of guy who has an intelligent opinion on beers.
