I used to have a long, strenuous hill on my commute. As I climbed, I thought about how long and difficult the climb was. That went on for about two or three weeks. Then one day, I noticed that I had just gotten to the top and hadn't even thought about the strain of the climb. It had become easy. My breathing rate didn't even become elevated.

I've always been a daring descender, so I go as fast as I can safely go down hills. When there is danger, I slow down.
