I've only ever been a member of one cycling club, my old high school club. I still have a jersey from them (and somehow it still fits). I don't pay $100 to ride a century just to get a shirt out of it.

Other than that, my first 2 cycling jerseys were a Skil (Sean Kelly) and Carrera (Stephen Roche) jersey. In the 90s I got myself a Saeco bib-shorts/jersey combo (Mario Cipollini). When Dan Martin won Liege this year, I ordered a Garmin jersey.

Maybe it's because I grew up in a soccer country, but I just like to wear the colours of the riders I support.
