It's true, just ask your SO.

I also don't wear league licensed jerseys, hats, or other gear. It may be socially permissible at the arena or stadium on the day of the big game, but not in everyday life. Makes grown-up sized men appear adolescent.

Anyhow, it's amazing how much greater the respect and deference one receives when dressed "up" rather than "down". True.

As for cycyling gear...if one is riding, it's all good. If you're overly concerned with what others might think, then I'd advise on buying more understated or generic, but quality, cycling gear. Don't scrimp on quality, make sure that the fit is correct, too.

Just an old guy's opinion...
Well, I'm another old guy, and I figure, just because you grow old, doesn't mean you have to grow up. The jerseys I've gotten the most positive comments on were my Cat In The Hat and Sam I Am jerseys, if that helps any. I guess I could get some nice somber jerseys printed up with the logo of the local funeral home and see if that impressed the women.
