When in doubt REPLACE IT. Is your bean worth the risk? If it was stored away from sunlight in a cool dark place it is probably OK. Sitting in an outdoor shed cooking the summer and freezing in the winter then it's probably not good any more.

Again, replace it if you doubt it.
