Yes.
although playing in the symphony and opera doesn't really stress me out, it does that to a lot of people (people that I know even). They don't just stop with beta-blockers. It's like a "face your fear of public speaking again and again and again kind of Circle of Hell".
I'd hazard a guess that pro orchestra musician have nearly as much self-generated stress as stock traders. (I did that job quite a while back too)
