There's also the AV "B" ride on Saturday. These days if you're in the front third its not any slower than the A ride except the A ride goes longer and does not stop for as long. The B ride is closer to 'no drop' than the A ride. I recommend new riders start with the B ride (I'm an AV member, Ygduf used to be).
I do the A ride and not the B ride, therefor I contend the front third of the A-ride can beat the front third of the B-ride. Brad only "wins" on the A-ride if I let him!
