I absolutely hate it when I'm the only thing on a road, just riding off to the side, and a driver decides that they're afraid to pass me and just tails me going real slow until they turn off.

Yes.... that's a serious annoyance. I once had a car that tailed me for 1/2 mile. I think he was afraid to pass on the double line and expected me to pull off the road so he could pass.
I have followed bikes for over a mile before, waiting for a safe place to pass. There was also a situation one time when I KNEW there was a narrow bridge coming up. I was following 2-3 cyclists. I was towing a large trailer. I probably could have gotten past them right before the bridge. But it was marginal. There was also some additional traffic behind me. I used the trailer and truck to keep those vehicles from passing until after the bridge when it was safer to do so. You could wave the driver on it you wish. But I would much rather have a driver pace me than cut me off.
