I admit, I'm a pretty cautious driver, probably because I get behind the wheel of a car no more than once every couple of months. I hate it when people wave me on, whether it's to pass someone or to make a left hand turn. I don't care if YOU think it's safe, I don't think it's safe yet and I'd rather wait for an opportunity that *I* see as safe.
Almost everyone who's followed behind me for a while on a bike has given me a very generous amount of passing room. I really appreciate them waiting for a super-safe opportunity, and I am not going to make them feel pressured to pass me.
I totally agree. They might be holding back because they don't feel it's safe to pass. But sometimes they follow behind you when there is no earthly reason not to pass. So either they are overly timid...or they're checking out your butt!
