You're right to do that. Beyond the fact that there's been so many different variants over the years,and despite the fact that you'll be able to see at a glance whether you have a high clamp, low clamp, top-/bottom-/dual-pull, or e-type, there *were* different capacities. Recently, the difference was between a 44t top and a 48t top. the 44t is, ime, far more common.
