Well, they've been selling thousands of those sets since the 90's, so maybe you got a bum set? Are the new ones made in India or something? I have a 10 year old set on an old Fisher Hoo Koo that are still humming along...
They def changed the tire. The old ones had the,not sure how to describe them,basket weave(?) sidewalls,the current ones are smooth. The current ones do not have the level of puncture protection the older ones did.
