It looks like your Bigfoot even has the same big lug at the seatpost that my '91 Mountaineer has.
I think if you just measure the distance between the inside of the forks and give just a bit of room for distortion/squish/cornering you'll know how wide of a tire you can fit. I actually commuted on mine for a few months and the super low end cantis were useless. The cheap Nashbar cantilever brakes I replaced them with are actually really good.
It's totally tripping me out that they copied GT's triple triangle design with that one. I've never seen that before, thanks for sharing!
Strangely, I'd give it a "hot" rating as is! Repainted, with fenders and slicks, it'd be really hot, especially as unusual as it is. Goo gone didn't help with removing the decals on mine, despite the fact you can see the edges of them.
that is awesome that you see the same in this bike that i do, i got it on the classifieds for $10, but the only reason i went with it was because of the rear triangle emulating that of a GT triple triangle. That and the fork is strangely modern in design in comparison to other rigid fork mountain bikes, modern in the sense of its taper and overall size.
