They aren't just shallower(than what?) aluminum rims. They are wide(23mm) which does make a difference. And absolutely rideable as every day rims.
Of course, and I'm not trying to say you're wrong, you've had a good experience with those wheels which is great; I demo'd them the second they were made available and enjoyed them. The fact of the matter is most companies are releasing wider rims now, my HEDs are just as wide as the Zipps. Also when we say shallower, we are referring to the rest of their line up minus the 202. My perspective is someone who works in a shop and interacts with large amounts of owners of different products. So when I say that I don't think they're the best option for daily riders, it's not an abstract opinion, it's from seeing real world problems.
So we have differing opinions which are both conducive to this thread.
